Superbright implemented a first-of-its kind augmented reality fashion show for xAd, a location based marketing company. The installation revolved around real fashion models on a custom designed runway, using augmented reality technology to create a completely virtual environment on stage.
Users in the audience interacted with this synchronized 3D experienced through their own mobile devices as well as provided iPads running the custom-built application.
We think this experience used augmented reality technology in the best way possible: by making an already polished fashion show exponentially richer with real-time 3D content that was not only intriguing but also relevant from a viewer perspective. T
he AR content was ‘anchored’ on the runway and the surrounding stage using two 12' custom designed markers. The experience was also reactive to the physical models, as Superbright controlled timing and placement of the digital content throughout the show via a custom web socket.
At the end of the show we connected a crowd of over 200 people to xAd’s technology and Lindsay Freimond's fashion collection - both a huge contextual and technological achievement alike.
World Builder is a in person browser for Primitives platform enabling quick design and distribution of VR scenes through multiple platforms. The goal of Primitives World Builder is decrease the cost and learning curve to easily prototype, research and deploy full 3D VR scenes. Similar to Tilt Brush, but design for true 3D content, users can load, position, scale and rotate any 3D content and create VR scenes for distribution. The scenes than can be saved to be used in larger projects or deployed for others to see.
Spatial Catastrophe is a VR puzzle-solving escape game that delivers a full body experience. Powered by Perception Neuron, a cutting-edge portable and affordable motion capture suit, we have attached controllers to every part of the player's body, such as the ankles and finger tips. Presented in a 90's retro pixelized graphic style, the game transforms the player into an astronaut who is stuck inside of a space reentry pod. As time counts down during the self-destruction procedural, the player, in order to survive, have to escape from the pod by interacting with the touch screens and physical buttons that are set up in the real environment. Spatial Catastrophe is the first demo presented by the Chinese Goodmen Studio who believe the future of video games is an integration of both the real and the virtual.
